Naturally, everybody in this business wants to be the most noticed blogging site. Being on the top will identify the traffic that your blogging site has produced. To make your blog rock in this business and be the top blogging site, you need to give your readers a reason to go to your site. But how?
Main thing is learning to create your own “break the rules” and personal approach, meaning not doing as the rest, because that’s what sets your blog apart from most, and obviously creates the loyal readership that defines any sort of success.

- Google and Yahoo can be your largest source of traffic but you have to let them know what your site is about. A good optimized blogging site for SE’s (Search Enigines) is a must-do to achieve this.
- The principle or rule of ’(Quality) Content is King’ is one of the best ways to get your blogging site high in the SE’s. So, please, pretty please, take your time and input what your articles are actually about.
- Accommodate your Readers by making your site very easy to navigate. Place links to your categories across the top of your pages. Include a link to the homepage on every page perhaps in the form of a logo so that if a user feels lost they can head to the homepage and start over.
- Improving your headlines will increases the number of readers that check out your articles so take the time to make sure that each post title really makes an good ‘teaser’ to read the rest.
- You must at least place one photograph in each blog you do. This can attract more readers to read your blogging site. Make efforts to add quality pictures not the ones that contains blurred images (see also: Web Graphics Guide – Image File Formats).
- RSS and email subscriptions are the absolute best ways to create repeat visitors. These outperform just about any other method that you can think of when trying to get your visitors to come back for more.
- Traffic patterns are also vital in this type of business. You shouldn’t only manage one site, it is better if you’re associated to other sites. You can write blogs to them too so long as you put your link in the final analysis of your blogs. This can serve as the (back-)link to your website.
- You can market your site by employing other blogging sites. This could be sure to snatch more readers attention which will keep the traffic flowing.
- Don’t sacrifice quality for quantity. It is better to produce two excellent articles than four that are poorly written.
- Optimize your blogging site by putting in more User-Friendliness for your Readers. Make your post footer interesting: put in Related Posts, Subscribe to RSS, Previous & Next Article links (with their full Title), Leave a Comment and you also can place your Bookmarks for Digg, Delicious, Technorati, etc.

You have yourself grasped quite well the concept of content is king. Thanks for the excellent post. :)
Altough content matters a lot, you also need to think about the look. Even if your site is packed full of excellent content, you cannot get repeat visitors, if your site does not look good. Keeping the design clean is vital in this aspcect
